| Poor Richard's Ale
Tony Simmons, a member of HOPS (Homebrewers
of Pagosa Springs), researched and crafted the National Award
Winning Poor Richard's Ale. The recipe included corn and molasses,
which were very typical colonial ingredients. Tony's recipes
has been re-brewed by 100 breweries in 35 states (including
Anheuser-Busch!)
Tony was flown to Philadelphia to brew the commemorative
beer with Philadelphia's local Iron Hill Breweries. Poor Richard's
Ale was served at a gala event for Benjamin Franklin's 300th
birthday celebration, and enjoyed by senators, congressmen
and the elite of Philadelphia society.
Listed below is a sampling of some of the press coverage.
